As part of our task of supporting major corporates in Turkey, we are often called upon to assist with advising on their financing deals. This includes reviewing and negotiating finance documents, preparing security documents and implementing all the local aspects of the financing process. We are also called on to do the legal DD for financing deals where there is a local aspect and provide legal opinions to lenders. Nihan Yigit and Jonathan Blythe head the team which handles our finance law work.

In addition, we also act for a number of international banks to whom we provide local law support and advice on their arrangements with local banks. In particular we act for some major card services providers and assist with their inter-bank agreements and support them with respect to compliance with the local banking regulator. Partner, Nihan Yigit, leads the team assisting our banking clients and oversees the compliance process.

The firm has a very strong track record in projects having advised the Turkish government on the Baku Tiblisi Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline and the Nabucco Pipeline projects. In addition, we have advised on aspects of infrastructure projects such as the Marmaray railway. The team have also advised on a number of energy projects both conventional, hydro and renewable. Jonathan Blythe and Nihan Yigit lead the project work.
